Grapes of Afghanistan

It’s grapes harvesting season in Afghanistan. Afghan grapes are among the best in the world. They are mainly sold to the local and neighboring markets.
Only a small quantity used to go to markets beyond Pakistan.
This year the Afghan tragedy has hit the country’s grapes markets too.
Pakistan has closed its borders to Afghans and their exports.
Demand for grapes inside the country is also very low due to the weakening purchasing power of Afghans and the devaluation of the currency.

Most of these grapes will be left to rot in the orchards and on the streets, sadly.
