Rust Art Wednesday on BIGZ
There is this place, BIGZ, in Belgrade, that used to be a big publishing house and it became squatted by artists, and later the artists started renting the space for ateliers, for music rehearsals, for whatever they needed space for. So, in one moment it became the most important artistic space in the capital of Serbia.
It is old, and big, but the concrete makes it all look kinda same as it used to be. Concrete don't change, huh. But here it is, the rust on the metal doors are all orange. They say how old something is.
And here is one of the graffitti that you can find on the BIGZ building.
It says: What (song) do we play first!?
And then, someone else wrote: "Kuglager kolo*" ( Bearing circle dance)
*Kolo is traditional dancing form in our country, as in many other Slavic cultures. People form a circle joining hands and then the music makes this go round and round. Kolo is very social form, isn't it?
Fun!
