You bring up a couple of excellent points. When someone else is required to do something for you, you generally have to wait and to be on someone else's timetable. Also, with learned or forced helplessness, it is easy to get used to being "lazy." I think we all would want other people to do certain undesirable tasks for us, but often it is unnecessary and irresponsible not to take care of it yourself. Could it be that the government not only enables laziness, but produces it as well?
