When faith can more than reason / world view
Our Lord Jesus Christ manifested a worldwide vision of the gospel. Every Christian act must have a global connotation.
Reading about the beatitudes, name that @sirknight gave to the supreme blessings of the people of Telos, I see a broad vision of this token, if every Christian of SteemChurch and communities, develop an action of faith like Jesus when he entrusted to take the gospel to all the nations of the earth. There was no plane or trains, however, the faith was stronger than the reason.
The word gospel comes from the Greek root "euaggelion" and literally means "good news" or "good news". So when someone brings us good news, in a sense the "gospel" is bringing us. However, when we study the word in its primary origin, we discover that this was the heart and center of the Christian faith. In other words, it was difficult to find another activity outside of Christianity where this word had the same meaning. Well we can say that this single word sums up all that is Christianity. Sometimes the "gospel of God" is spoken of and sometimes "the gospel of Jesus Christ". In both cases we speak of a message of good news for all men.
And, what was that gospel? In the first place it is the revelation God, therefore it is not a human discovery (Gal 1:11, 12). When man knows the gospel he is also knowing God and his plan. Second, the gospel "is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes" (Romans 1:16). This could be the most complete definition of the gospel.
The Lord said: "And this gospel will be preached (italics mine) ...". The pronoun "this" gives a sense of definition and exclusivity to what goes on. Jesus did not say: "The gospel will be preached." That would have lent itself to believing any other gospel. "This gospel" gives the name and surname to whom it belongs.
The gospel of Christ was unique and will remain unique; It is his gospel. When the disciples heard this solemn promise from the lips of their Master, and then learned of their teachings embodied in the pure doctrine known thus far, they knew that what they were proclaiming was "this gospel." It was not, therefore, strange that Peter, in the great sermon of Pentecost, spoke of "this gospel" with all vehemence. (Ac.2: 22-24). It was the gospel that Paul preached, when he said: "I also declare to you, brothers, the gospel that I preached to you ... that Christ died for our sins, according to the Scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day, according to the Scriptures ... "(1 Cor 15: 1-4). The disciples did not know of another gospel but of this one.
On the other hand, "this gospel" summons us not to preach a different one. Much of the proliferation of error, especially in those who are saying that Jesus Christ has already arrived, embodies that other gospel. Paul recognized that the gospel is something that can be perverted.
He lived this situation with the Galatians, when he said: "I am amazed that you are so far away from the one who called you by the grace of Christ, to follow a different gospel. Not that there is another, but there are some who disturb you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ "(Gal 1: 6, 7).
And what Paul is warning us is that when a man begins to speak more than he thinks of his interpretation, instead of what the Bible says, he is preaching a different gospel. At this time, "the Bible says" is being replaced by "what I believe" in many Christian pulpits.
Well said EF, our vision is that SteemChurch have offices on every continent, described in our town of Telos. Great message
