Action cameras are firmly embedded in our lives. So firmly that sometimes directors and producers choose a GoPro over expensive studio equipment. Why? Cheap and sour :)

Catch the top five movies shot (or almost shot) on this popular action camera with perfect copyright free music. But before you do, check out this video, which compiles some of the best GoPro footage of the past year.

So, movies on GoPro. First, up will be Hardcore, a 2015 sci-fi action film directed by Ilya Naishuller from his script, which is shot entirely from the main character's point of view. Naturally, a GoPro camera and a unique Adventure mask for first-person shooting were used for all this, as well as an original magnetic image stabilization system developed under the direction of cameraman-director Vsevolod Kaptur. Anyway, who hasn't seen it yet - take a look. The number of stunts and artificial blood in the frame is off the scale.

Another Russian sci-fi film, director Konstantin Shelepov's feature debut Censor is also known for being shot on DSLR cameras and GoPro action cameras. The film's action takes the viewer into the not-too-distant future, where the entertainment industry comes to the fore. Having plunged into an expensive virtual world, a person can no longer always distinguish it from real life, and here the main characters start having real problems.

A music band consisting of two twin brothers The Mattson 2 wanted to make a film about their life for quite a long time, and with the advent of their GoPro action camera, it became possible. Now they are filming all their tours, rehearsals, and just fun moments of life. At the moment, the guys are raising money to continue filming their big movie.

New York dance-punk duo Matt And Kim have released a music video for their new single Let's Run Away. The main feature of the video was the use of a GoPro camera, which the musicians during the filming rotated around themselves, creating a "low-budget version" of the famous effect from the movie "The Matrix".

Last on the list is director Ridley Scott's sci-fi film The Martian. According to the plot the main character - nerd Mark Watney is lost in a sandstorm on the Red Planet and tries to survive alone at all costs. The film was shot with RED Epic Dragon and Scarlet Dragon cameras, and for the maximum effect of the immersion of the viewer into the story the crew used 28 action cameras GoPro Hero4.
