Say Goodbye to Google Instant Search

Marrisa Mayer, who was the head of the search team at Google in 2010, has said that this feature was going to be a “fundamental shift in search.” She had also said that using this feature would save all the users on the planet up to 11 hours every second or 3.5 billion seconds every day.
This feature has now been said good bye to after seven entire years. The reason for this is that more than half the users make use of their mobile devices to carry out searches instead of their desktops. Since this feature is not available on mobile devices, it has been done away with.
The statement given by the search engine giant is as follows:
“We launched Google Instant back in 2010 with the goal to provide users with the information they need as quickly as possible, even as they typed their searches on desktop devices. Since then, many more of our searches happen on mobile, with very different input and interaction and screen constraints. With this in mind, we have decided to remove Google Instant, so we can focus on ways to make Search even faster and more fluid on all devices.”
You might not even realise that this feature has been done away with as predictive words still show up in the search engine when you are typing something, however if you look closely you will see that no results show up unless you press enter. Personally, I am glad that it has been done away with as it was more like an annoying person who was acting like they knew more than you, when you never even asked a question in the first place.
