About 2.6 GigaWatt of clean wind and solar energy is what it takes to run Google operations around the world.
Amazon by it's own uses about half of that.
It's good to know that when you use all the immense google services and products online you are not contributing to the increase of nasty pollutants into the atmosphere.

This is an important move by google because big corporations like this one, amazon, microsoft, facebook, which have enormous power needs, are going to dictate and change the energy market toward the right direction when
they demand renewable sources of energy.
The electricity market will be forced by this big companies to comply and change their energy sources of production to renewable. Polluting electricity generators will diminish and more renewable power plants will be built, which in turn will benefit all of us.
