Google fined fine, Trump trumps
According to Trump, this fine is the latest evidence of Europe's exploitation on the United States in more than one case. Trump has recently threatened that if the EU does not change its trade policy, then the region, especially in Europe, will have to get "terrible reprisals". One day after his threat, the EU has fined Google.
On Wednesday, the EU said Google's parent organization gave immense benefits to their own services. Smartphone manufacturers have been forced to install Google apps like chrome, search and play store in advance.
The EU's fine is entirely contradictory to the US, according to the IANS report. The anti-trust authorities investigated Google's search and advertising business in the United States. The investigation concluded in 2013 without any major penalty given to the web giant.
The Democrats and the Republicans, after the Federal Trade Commission or the FCC will start a new investigation in the United States from then on.
Democrat Richard Blumenthal said in a statement on Wednesday that "FTC must end the position of not taking any step by the decade and there should be a growing evidence of Google's practice to prevent competition in the market, which is important for our economy and society."
"This agenda alone should not be made in Europe alone."
Although the request was made for comment, a White House spokesman said that no response has been given immediately.
