Arcade: Google's secret project related to the development of social games
Bloomberg publishes information about Google's new social gaming starter.
The project is called Arcade, and more detailed information about it is kept in secret. But the internet giant has confirmed the existence of the project. Google has just said the project aims to create "mobile games for friends", but so far is too early to develop.
According to Bloomberg, Google's new project will have nothing to do with any of the existing social networks. Users will register via their phone number. Google is of the opinion that, with enough development, these games are starting to look like social networks. Therefore, integration with Facebook and Google+ is not required.
Arcade was created in the Google Area 120 internal incubator, where Google employees are legally entitled to spend 20% of their time on their own projects.
The project is run by 21-year-old programmer Witherspoon Michael Simon. Simon has recently switched from Facebook to Alphabet. He indirectly confirmed the work on this project, saying that Bloomberg "took the cat out of the sack".
It is also reported that Arcade will present its first game this summer.
