A Mistake I Made and What I Have Learned
Good day everyone, for a long time I have an intention of writing a kind of article "A MISTAKE I MADE AND WHAT I HAE LEARNED" and I got the opportunity on steemit thanks 🙏 to the organizers of this contest.
HOW DID YOU VIEW MISTAKE
A mistake is a wrong action or statement proceeding from incorrect judgment. In life I believe nobody is perfect we are all born to make a mistake and then learn from the past not letting a kind of mistake repeat itself, so make my own mistakes also the part of your lesson
WHAT MISTAKE DID YOU MAKE RECENTLY
I have made a lot of mistake in life, and I believe a lot more are still to come but I hope it won't be as bad as the older ones and the recent mistake I want to write about.
It was on 5 February 2024,Monday morning, so my dad transferred some money to my account and instructed me to pay my siblings school fees, as the eldest of the family afterall it is a family position that requires a lot of responsibilities.
So a friend of mine called me that he need N10,000 that in 15 minutes time he will pay me back the money with some interest, so I asked him how would that happen, so he told me that there is a football match that is ongoing so he will use the money to place some bet, then at the end of 90 minutes (full time) he will be a millionaire, I had the word millionaire so i ask him to send his account no then I forward the money to him.
However I did not stop there so I was thinking how will only my friend be a millionaire when I till have N 40,000 left, so I had to run down to his house because I have never place a bet before I told him I still have N 40,000 so if I use it to place a bet, I will also be a millionaire,so I placed the bet.
The heartbroken part of the sad story was that, at the end of 90 minutes, unfortunately for us the match was full time draw and we play for just one team to win, so he told me that we did not win 😭😭.
Immediately I remembered that the money was for my siblings school fees, then I started shouting and crying "I DON DIE TODAY" because my dad is a disciplined man he don't take sheet, what will I tell him happen to N50,000, I had no choice than to go home. Just few seconds I got home he ask I hope you have paid your siblings fees I was unable to utter a word from my mouth, so at last I said NO, that I use the money for myself then alot of questions he asked me. Honestly it was "HELL IN A CELL". I face the consequences attached to it.
WHAT DID YOU LEARN FROM YOUR MISTAKE
