Ethereum Co-Founder Donates Over $1-Billion To India COVID Relief
Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, the world’s second largest cryptocurrency, has donated over $1-billion to the India Covid Relief Fund. The 27-year-old’s gift comes less than two weeks after he became the world’s youngest known crypto billionaire.
Buterin’s donation, made with cryptocurrencies, comes at a much-needed time as India struggles with the pandemic. He also made donations worth millions of dollars to GiveWell, a non-profit charity evaluator, Methuselah Foundation, which works to extend human lifespan, and Machine Intelligence Research Institute, which focuses on developing safe artificial intelligence technologies.
