Jail time, hefty fines for selling same-sex marriage vote

The Australian Bureau of Statistics, which is conducting a survey, issued a statement which states that it considers to present a survey which has been a criminal offense or has been purchased.

Deputy Statistician for ABS Jonathan Palmer told a Senate investigation on Friday that ABS is not a policy of dealing with such acts and they asked some cases to be sent to the Australian Federal Police (AFP).

It is not clear whether selling a vote in the postal survey is a criminal offense.
