The Spirit’s Flight
The Spirit's Flight
One night I felt a surge of light
That lifted me from earthly plight
And freed me from the bonds of time
To soar across the vast sublime.
I saw the stars as points of fire
That burned with ancient, pure desire
And traced the patterns of their dance
That spoke of cosmic elegance.
I heard the music of the spheres
That filled my soul with joy and tears
And tuned my spirit to the chord
That harmonized with my love and Lord.
I touched the fabric of the space
That wove the worlds with subtle grace
And sensed all the dimensions beyond
That beckoned me to go and bond.
I tasted of the nectar sweet
That flowed from every soul I'd meet
And shared the wisdom of their ways
That enriched my mind for endless days.
I smelled the fragrance of the dawn
That marked the start of a new morn
And breathed the air of endless life
That filled me with a new delight.
At last when the night was done
And I had my fill of frolicking fun
My spirit found my body once more
Bound again through its earthly door
