Scheduled Hardfork on January 16th 2020
Hey everyone! This is an announcement regarding a mandatory hard fork for GoldPieces scheduled to take place January 16th, 2020. The main purpose of this hard fork is to lower the staking cap from 2.5GP to 1GP.
Other advancements may be implemented during this hard fork, and we will be taking such suggestions from the community. It’s estimated we will have a coin supply of a money supply of about 5,000,000 GP when this hard fork is scheduled to take place, and it will take the staking rate from 10-15% per year to somewhere around 5% per year, slowing inflation.
We will surely have several soft wallet updates by then, enhancing the UI and such, but this is our next scheduled hard fork. We will be sure to organize this hard fork with our exchanges and other large services when we’re a bit closer to the time as well as provide our users with everything they need to be prepared and ready when the time comes.
