Tuscany - San Gimignano
In july we went to visit our dear friends in Italy. They live in Lucca - Tuscany. They decided to spoil us with a delicious Italian specialities and excursions.
Among other things we saw one beautiful small walled medieval hill town known as The Town of Fine Towers - San Gimignano.
View from the wall was gorgeous.
After some shots we decited to walk around a little bit.
Look who we met 😍
This guy who knows where to find a nice spot in town to rest and enjoy.
After a while he decided that he had enough of photoshooting 😂
Town is famous for its medieval architecture, unique in the preservation of about a dozen of its tower houses.
One of the tower houses.
Within the walls, the well-preserved buildings include notable examples of Romanesque and Gothic architecture.
You can also find a lot of small shops with Italian specialties ...
One of many shops of Pinocchio who is a fictional character of the children's novel The Adventures of Pinocchio (1883) by Italian writer Carlo Collodi. Carved by a woodcarver named Geppetto in a village near Lucca, he was created as a wooden puppet and dreamed of becoming a real boy. Pinocchio is known for having a short nose that becomes longer when he is lying 🤥
And here is the last one for today - a little shop with some paintings of local motives 🎨
Ciao tutti 👋🏻
Nice place.
Yes it is :)
Definitely lovely scenery at Italy. Lots of nature. Look like a great place to slow down and take a nice walk.
Lovely photos! I wish I had more time in Italy to visit all the small towns in the country side.
Greetings from Cape Town :)
Thanks for putting all the photos together into a nice little album ;) Nice memories!!
