Blog #005: Grinding takes patience - Will hodlers ruin the market place?

So in the past few days the game got pretty slow. Everyone lost his core cards due to the beta wipe, and you need more experience for level ups now. So in order to get your core cards back, you need to grind a lot. Since Genesis sale is over too, you either have enough cards to make the duels interesting, or (like me) you start from 0 with the premade decks. And to me this felt like a step back. Of course this phase will be over soon, but it takes some patience to grind back to level 100 where you have at least the most basic cards. To me, the WE tournament rewards also seem quite boring. In lack of Genesis cards they are giving out Epic Core Packs for reward tier 3 and 4. These would be possible for me, but I'm not willing to invest that much time for these rewards. I want to enjoy the game as long as possible, so for now I'm playing not that often until motivation hits back :)

Trading - the next big thing

Right now, the cards are being activated for trading, which is a good thing of course. There are tons of cards I don't have in my collection right now, and I would be happy to build a deck just by picking the cards I like instead of grinding for an eternity. But one idea struck my mind recently: Will the big whales even sell their cards? A lot of people considered buying Genesis cards an investment, so why would you sell the cards days after the initial purchase, if it wasn't for an immense profit? And even worse, when the only way to spend money on this game is the market place, will people push up prices by doing more of these "investments"? Of course increasing prices are good for the economy and people already possesing these cards, but the ones who are late to the party might suffer because a big part of the Genesis-Set is not available at justifiable prices. A new card set would solve all those problems, so let's hope they don't let us wait for too long!
