The textiles industry must make every effort, do the utmost, to improve it‘s water practises by reducing waste and avoid using harsh chemicals during production. Sustainability also refers to the value of water- How we use and preserve it.
ecoafriq operates from Africa and practise these methods to minimise water waste and combat drought :
*Rainwater harvesting, It’s a great way to combat drought and provides us with water in times of drought.
*Recycling organic waste, It’s one of the best ways to improve water retention capabilities of soil- by adding organic matter into it. Organic material has been found to increase the water retention capabilities of soil.
*Never waste water, Never pour water down the drain when there may be another use for it and avoid running the tap unnecessarily.
*Plastic free shop, Plastic doesn't biodegrade and toxic to oxygen-producing microorganisms. It’s harmful to the ecosystem. Our eshop only uses organic and recycled materials to make our bags and accessories. No plastic.
*Planting more trees, this practice is one of the best methods to reduce drought and improve the quality of our environment.
