Bajai Body Camp 14.17: Day 406
Hotel Continental
Tuesday July 17, 2018
Tangier, Morocco
22.23% ready to go

Woke up early but didn't get out of bed until I could not stay in bed any longer. Then I did forty standing elbow-knees... they get easier. Then some packing, morning ritual, dealt with the bee rash... day 6... came to breakfast early.. the usual.

In case you've never seen the aftermath of a bee sting.

It's odd... I don't feel as hungry in the AM. if breakfast wasn't included I could probably extend the fast until noon. We'll see if/how that works out in the next several weeks.

Episode 17 has been distributed. I'll post to Bitchute and Steemit before I leave. And then, I'm thinking to not even unpack the laptop as long as I'm in hostels, if I can help it.

Once again I'm trying to be done with fb. My poor friends are mocking the mockingbirds and I can sense their fear and hatred, but I know they won't do anything. They are arm chair activists who have benefited from the system, (just as I have). But their negativity affects my vibe. And since I'm watching the show from a different perspective... I have to switch them off.

However, I do tune in to watch how they react. But now, I know how they react. It's my own fault too. I've been adding my 2¢ to the mix. I should stop that as well.

Okay. I plan to be out of here by 11:30. Go across to the gare/port, check in, wait.... cross, customs... hostel... beach maybe, relax surely... be more friendly.

Waiting to board the ferry.

Smooth checkout and I must say I did grow to like Hotel Continental.

Now here's what I learned about ferrying out of Morocco. The standard strategy applies; arrive early. Direct Ferries doesn't provide your ticket, so on the way to the terminal you have to stop in the office show your passport and wait for your ticket to be issued. Then there's the exit document. Before you can begin to fill it out a hustler will appear to do it for you... for a fee. It's a good idea in Morocco to keep some loose change with you. Ones, fives and tens are the coins, there's smaller change, but that's practically insignificant.

It might be better to buy your ticket at the port.

So anyway, it's probably better to buy your ticket directly from the shipping completely, especially when you're leaving Morocco. Leaving from Spain is different.

I've been here a month and five days. No big deal. Again, like Malaysia there are, or seem to be, no time restrictions on visiting. Maybe because there's no social safety net for immigrants to take advantage of?

Not sure.

20180717_The Look.png
I think it's a neutral look, but it can be intimidating... I guess.

I didn't do a guns show pic from Morocco. No biggie. I haven't felt much like flexing for the camera lately. How...everrr.... maybe I did do a flex pic in Asilah. I'll have to check on that.

I didn't think to pack any food with me. Is that a result of getting used to not eating during the day?

Some shoulder stretches on the boat, that's half an hour late pulling out... so far... but the shoulder pain has decreased. The ROM has increased a little bit. I'm a bit surprised, but not terribly. I know that what I do to repair it works. It's not 100%, but I'll take the progress. Keep up the bands routine, more pushups and dips, shrugs and pulling... and if course stretches. Same with the left knee joint.

I've been having this weird queue karma all
Day. Whichever line I choose slows down. Someone let's someone else ahead in the queue. I kept reminding myself that I wasn't going to be left behind. I just thought it was weird.

After a labyrinthine trek around Tarifa I finally found the hostel. I got a little "scare" when Amparo told me the reservation was for yesterday. But... she cleared it up. The room reminds me of barracks. Ten bunks... two occupied at the moment, but people will probably check in for the night.

The place where the hostel is, is basically a medina. It's surrounded or was it looks like, by a wall. It's not as tight as the ones in Morocco, but it looks like a similar layout. There are small plazas within and streets are really alleys just wider than a car. Very small sidewalks. Cobblestone.

One of the entrances. I don't think the Spanish call them medinas.
But it sounds like a Spanish word.

I think I'm going to miss my gloomy-doomies the next couple of days.

There is nothing included at the hostel... which is why it's so cheap. Soap etc., from vending machines..towels €3 to rent... Only €2 in Madrid, but the base price is higher. I'm nickle-and-diming.

Tarifa is too touristy. Too early an impression. Let me find a cup of tea. I'm kind of cynical I guess.

I'm excited about Seville, at the moment.

Right now I am tired and sleepy. I'm going to have to book more programs next year. Downtime is a killer. It's nice to have a week or two off, but then I get antsy. I'm in a town full of holiday makers and I feel out of place. Plus I don't like being in the barracks.

I've killed two big-ass roaches in the kitchen so far.

Reached out to #1. I think our moment has passed, but I want to be sure. No false hopes or empty promises on either side.

I may have to upload this one by phone.

Sort:

I ended up waiting to upload. It's a bit more detailed.
