Japanese Gaming Giant Sega to Launch First Blockchain Game

The most influential Japan-based gaming company has announced that it will be developing its first blockchain-based game. The project, which will be developed by another gaming company, Double Jump Tokyo, will be based on the Sangokushi Taisen franchise, a popular Japanese arcade game.

The Sangokushi Taisen franchise consists of a series of strategy games that allow its players to use virtual cards in virtual fields. The game's framework lends itself to the implementation of blockchain elements, such as the tokenization of some of the game's assets and the trading aspect of cards.
