RE: DailyMastermind 48 | GIVEAWAY 5 SBD FOR THE BEST IDEA TO IMPROVE DTUBE
Here are some small things, that are missing in my opinion:
- Save preferences like night mode and video player quality
- Improve the video player
- Registering takes too long, this might scare a lot of users away
- It would be nice to have an option to upload videos and schedule the release for the future.
- An import function from YouTube might lurr some users :D
But this is obvious. my main idea is:
- Due to the rewards you get for liking etc., people get attracted to begging, spam and other bad stuff. Manual report checking is probably impossible if the platform grows too much. A lot of people don't downvote, because it costs voting power (however, this prevents hate-downvotes).
If catching new people, who like your videos, would be weighted higher, than fans' likes, this could maybe decrease the effects from bots and other stuff and, like the hate-downvote prevention, the always-upvote-people are not overestimated, which should give new content creators the chance to get value from quality, not from the biggest fan base.
oh and display capitalized names ^^
@flixcoder thank you for the suggestion! I believe that this bot-voting thing applies not only to @dtube but across all platforms built on the STEEM Blockchain. I have completely no clue how can developers design a system that rewards based on quality of content but not fan base (because if there really isn't any quality, then how can one acquire such a huge fan base in the first place?)
Yes, there is probably no possibility to measure the quality. But if they implement, that votes from new followers weigh more, it will result in less fan base effects. So new quality-content creators should have a bigger chance in theory, right?
However, there is no guarantee that new quality-content creators will get more new followers compared to the veteran content creators. Especially when curation rewards are based on the total rewards for the post, I myself will usually upvote users who have consistent high paying posts to earn more curation.
