Girl by the river

Art is contagious. It seem like I cannot stop painting and I have been coming up from one artwork to the next. I find it truly exciting and depressing at the same time. I wanted to paint bamboo trees, only ending up erasing them. And my small garden suddenly became my source of inspiration. I suddenly noticed how beautiful weeds were, and I carefully studied the different shades of red, yellow, greens. It is amazing how little attention I gave to them all throughout my entire life. And now, they are just inspiring.

The river is situated next to where I am living, and I am noticing the many trees and bushes that grows along both sides of the river. I heard that the trees would be bulldozed to make way for a river widening project. The village folks are unhappy with this as their houses, if these were in the way of the development, would also be bulldozed. It is such a sad, sad time. And reminds me of the song "They pave paradise and put up a parking lot".
