Jazz and Street Musician

One among hundreds of thing I've missed the most from Europe - in this case Germany - is street performances. They are everywhere , might be in hot summer or frozen winter, you could still find them.

I used to live in Bonn, small city next to Koeln. Sounds weird huh, why do I have to mention Koeln ? Simply because people around me knows more about Koeln. Unless I said " It is a place where Bethoven was born" , then they gonna say "Haaa .. " . They still have no idea, just to end the conversation.

Back to the topic...

There are number of street performances you could see . Bonn especially, has couple of street performances that caught my eyes for couple years while living there.

• Jazz performance in front of Thalia Bookstore

It used to be every Thursday night where a group of men would gather and play jazz. I would occasionally go there and enjoy their live music. Some people would dance along, some would take a sit on the street, while the rest clapping along.

It was always nice to see their performance. There was one time, people were waiting They might be a grandpa by appearance, but once they play, you cannot judge.

• Summer Jazz festival

I am not sure it was the title of the event. But let me call it that way. This event is held in summer. Several group of musician would play jazz in haltestelle. . every group play in different place.

There were time where I would change the place just to see another beautiful jazz performance during this season.

• Klavier

I don't think there was an event, but I was walking down the street where I heard someone play klavier. It was one cold day for me, but the performance really warm my heart.

I had quite hard time studying and living there. Sometime I would take a walk just to get rid my negative energy. Finding such thing along the street at least made my day to be way better .

Live is full of surprise.. and who doesn't love surprise

And I miss Europe, as always ;)
