Wow a lot of people voted on the last day of early voting in the Georgia runoff.
We are now up to 1.85 million people that have early voted. That's 47% of the general election turnout. I don't think we have to worry about this being a low turnout runoff. If election day voting maintained its general election ratio to early voting, we would be looking at a final 74% turnout. If election day voting is unchanged we would be looking at a final 83% turnout.
76,765 people voted in the runoff so far that didn't vote in the general. 37% of those individuals are Black and 29% are under 30.
I'm a little concerned about some of the turnout by county though. Fulton county is at 65% of its general election early voting. Henry is at 68%. Chatham is 60%. Bibb is at 59%.
Though some red counties have even worse turnout. Cherokee is only at 57%. Columbia is at 61%. Fayette is at 63%. Coweta is at 46%.
We'll have to see if the election day turnout is different.
