All of these rocks show the presence of water ๐Ÿ’ฆ. It is awesome how the rock preserves these characteristic over long periods of time. All of these rocks are primarily sedimentary. The top picture shows flaser bedding. This happens when the bedding is exposed to intermittent flows leading to alternating sand and mud layers.

Whatโ€™s cool about the second picture is that it shows you the direction the water was flowing. In this case the water is moving to the right as sediment is laid down.

The third picture show lenticular bedding. This is also showing alternating layers of sand and mud. The call it lenticulr because of the lens shapes created within the rock.

The last rock show that the current changed direction a few time through time. You can see how the lines cross over each other as you move up.
