Millionsof years ago there was onle one hue land mass of earth,which geologists now call Pangaea(Greek for "All Earth").
There was just one great oceans,Panthalassa.On the land mass,life began to develop in simple form until there was early reptiles
Then about 240 million year ago,Pangaea cracked into gigantic piece and began to drift apart on the semi-liquid interior of the earth,rather like icebergs on the sea.Sceintists estimate that the plates moved about 10 sentimeters a year,interestingly this is at about the same rate as human hair grows.
