I'm not fundamentally opposed to the idea of putting some sort of reflective devices in orbit that would reduce solar heating. This is something that has been proposed in the past, is technically feasible and is something that is reversible and would have no environmental consequences in terms of pollutants. I'm not convinced such a thing is necessary but this would be the way to go if it were.
