SLC S22W5 Mapping My Daily Activity
Greetings, everyone!
Week 5 is here! It’s time to apply all we’ve learnt and revised so far!
Pakistan Standard Time said I had decided to follow my schedule and head out to watch a volleyball match on this day. I started and finally arrived at the volleyball ground which served as my starting as well as ending point of the journey.
As part of this task, I drew a polygon to map the route, aligning with the purpose of this week's activity: I am doing all this revising and applying what I learned in class.
I headed about 100 meters away down the main road to my uncle’s home. I marked two points on the map along the way.

I reached the foot of the main road and stopped, my next stop a petrol pump a short distance away. I noted this spot on my map so I was following that.
Around 30 meters from the petroleum pump I was at a block factory that produces construction materials. I put that location onto my map.
I remembering marking lots of points along the way, probably noting interesting spots too. I can’t quantify everything step by step, but the journey was interesting with observations.
No matter where I was, each point changed my map with each new area being busier or quieter.
Eventually I kept jogging to my final destination— volleyball ground— to watch the match and cover up many points step by step I had mapped!
My total distance at the end of my journey was 930.369 meters. I also put a buffer zone all around the entire route I’m travelling and marked all the points I visited per contest requirements.
The buffer then really highlighted where I had been during the day. Additionally, I created a polygon around the starting point to get a stream view of my route.
This exercise offered to not only gauge distance but to mull over the spaces I traveled through, which gave me a more thorough understanding of the space around me. Mapping and observation was really great!
Describe the route you took. What is the road like? What did you find? Is it a busy or quiet area? Are there many shops? What type? Analyze your route.
Not all of those roads were smooth, nor were they quiet. I began from my uncle's door where there was a road with quite a good amount of traffic but without too much crowd.
Somehow, I kept going and found myself moving along among a few shops selling all sorts of things. Couple of food stalls there selling snacks that I wished I had some money in!
It wasn’t a busy bustle of a market, and it wasn’t super quiet. The few people here and there gave it a calm vibe.
Overall, the journey was an interesting route, a nice mix of life and stillness—just enough to make it fun!
Thank you 😊
kind Regards
