Greek Genocide Resource Center: Resolution on "Recognition of all victims of the Greek Genocide"
The Greek Genocide Resource Center is trying to provide a solution to a "divisive problem" which it highlights at every opportunity . The reason was the proposal submitted last month to the Dutch Parliament , according to which only the Greeks of Pontus are recognized as victims of genocide.
True to what it has been advocating since its inception, namely that not only Pontians but also other Greeks in Asia Minor were victims of genocide, the Greek Genocide Resource Center drafted a resolution on "Recognition of all victims of the Greek Genocide" and calls for everyone to sign electronically.
The resolution concerns all the victims of Greek origin who lived in the Ottoman Empire, from 1914 to 1923.
"On the occasion of the proposal submitted to the Dutch Parliament last month and recognizing only the Greeks of Pontus as victims of genocide, please read and sign the following resolution, where we call on other groups to be included in the recognition of the victims of genocide. So far almost 4,000 people have signed up.
The division that exists in the Greek community, regarding the recognition of the genocide and the memory of the victims, must stop.
"All victims must be identified and remembered equally. In particular, we call on the Greek-Canadian Senator Leo Housakos and the Greek-Canadian Congress to stop their organized efforts to reduce or deny the suffering of Greek victims from the rest of Asia Minor and Eastern Thrace, pursuing only partial recognition of the victims. Pontus in Canada. "
