IN LOVING MEMORY

in #genesisproject7 years ago (edited)

Ever wondered what all headstones have in common?
Weird thought right? Headstones.... who spends time thinking about headstones?

Well, I will enlighten you.(with pleasure)
They all have the bearers name, birth date , death date and a dash in between.

What intrigues me about all these is the dash? The number of years this individual has lived on earth all summed up in a dash.
The really intriguing part is not the number of years summed up in the dash, but how well or how fulfilled this individual must have been through these years.

So...picture your burial ceremony (don’t be scared to, no one lives forever)
Imagine your headstone and the dash in between your birth day and death day
Imagine living in fear, doubt, depression, unhappiness, negativity for 20, 30 or 50 years of your 100 years on earth.

It's a new year ( I'm not about to start with the new year resolutions and all), but you need to pause and ask...what has fear, doubt, negativity done for me through the years?

‘In the end, it’s not the years in life that count. It’s the life in your years’. (Abraham Lincoln)

How do you want to live your dash?
True fulfilment in life comes when you run your own race; the one God designed for you.
Run it scared trusting Him. Don’t get stuck in the moments that didn’t work out. It’s important to find yourself and live.

So live, make mistakes, try new things, find love, accept love, dream again, remember lost dreams, give, breathe, smile...make your life count.
