Grayscale Bitcoin Investment Trust GBTC

I have invested quite a bit into this fund. Now hold on you who deem yourselves to be the crypto rule makers. Many of us have been taught to invest into our 401(k) accounts and trust that 40 years from now that we will have enough of a nest egg to retire on. The past 8 years have been great but we know that a correction is coming. But we also know that crypto is in it's infancy and as trillions of dollars leave traditional markets they will pour into cryptocurrency. Once I discovered that I could sell off some of the default mutual funds in my 401(k) and choose my own investments, I jumped on this fund.

Now many argue that it doesn't make sense because you are paying a premium on the underlying asset (Bitcoin). But from an investment standpoint it doesn't matter. A percentage is a percentage. Check out the chart below.

Over 1600% in 2017. So while the price does not match bitcoin, look at the return! Another key advantage is that you can watch what bitcoin is doing with a set price. For example, the market closed on Friday. Well Bitcoin is up over the weekend. I can place an order now so that as soon as the market opens I can fill at the last closing price but we know the demand is already off the charts because Bitcoin did so well over the weekend.

This is an opportunity for those who are AFRAID to set up exchanges or send our sensitive documents to a website we never heard of. A 60 year old may not know how to set up an etherwallet but he sure as heck can call his broker to set up an order.
