Remember this little guy? He’s growing up fast
It was just a couple of months ago that I posted a photo of my little plum tree.
Well he’s been growing like a weed, and despite the rest of my garden being trashed in the storm, he is still standing proud and tall.
I’m really surprised at just how fast the little guy is growing and I hope it continues. Who knows, maybe next summer we’ll see our first plums.
Thats a plam tree, nice man I have never seen one in real life. If i would try to grow that ,it would be dead in 1 day lol. Wish I had more steem power to upvote you but I'm still new and only like day 9... I think. Sorry bro
it's a plum tree. It was self-seeded from a huge tree in my dad's garden. He dug it up and put it in a wee pot and gave it to me last year. I put it into a bigger pot and it seems to like it.
i used to eat plums like crazy when i was a kid. I knew where every tree was in our town and how to sneak over the fence and get the plums ;-)
Thanks for the update @trevor.george Upvoted and shared.this tree interesting. Thanks for sharing all photp.
thanks for that ;-)
Welcome.
nice
The mother lode of plums is ready now if you want to come for a trip, the grapes are a couple of weeks away if the birds don't get them first.
Good to see the little fella is growing so well, may need a new, bigger, pot next spring so it can continue to grow without the roots getting bound up and no dirt to grow in.
Ask mum in the middle of winter.
He still has a way to go, and if he continues growing I'll get a bigger pot, like the ones for the olive trees.
Then I'll start pruning him to keep him manageable. So when we shift to our own house (one day) we can take them with us.
How is the grape? I think I saw another little self sown one today if you want it.
The grapes are doing ok. I puilled them inside during the storm also. The are growing slowly, but at least they are growing. ;-)
It will give you something to feed the sparrows
Great Job on this tree! I cant tell you how many times I have tried to sprout stone fruit only to have them die.
I'm lucky with this one, in that it was self-seeded. It was already a little tree when my dad gave it to me. I've never managed to get a stone to sprout and live either.
But this little guy seems to be doing alright so far ;-)
