We've tried the water way, but the soil way looks interesting. I even have a heating pad for plants now so I think I'll try this. Just need to get my hands on a sweet potato. Mwhahahaha!
As far as I know, most large farms around me start their sweet potato slips in the soil. Most home gardeners only heard about the water method, so that's what most home gardeners use. I personally used the water method for years before an old timer told me about the soil method. It's almost as if that's a highly guarded secret or something. Give the soil method a try and see what you think!
