★ How to: Grow Strawberries from Seed (A Complete Step by Step Guide)
Today's Project Diary Video I will be showing you how to grow Strawberries from seeds using a left over Strawberry. I was very successful using these simple tips and now have around 12 healthy Plants with more still growing.
You can harvest your own seeds from a ripened fresh Strawberry fairly easily. There are many ways to remove the seeds from the Strawberry and you can even plant the whole fruit but each Gardener has their own techniques.
As you can see above, the Seedlings don't take very long to germinate and you'll have your own fresh homegrown Strawberries by the end of the year. Just remember that going them from seed won't guarantee you the same tasting fruit as the parent plant but sometimes they're even tastier. For a full how to video please see the bottom of this post.

So you really can grow them from seed! I occasionally got strawberries which seemed to be sprouting from the seeds while they were still on the strawberry and on the plant. I tried planting them, but no luck.
Indeed! You're not guaranteed the taste but it's worth trying as you can grow so many plants from one Strawberry

Good stuff @projectdiaries, I have struggled with strawberries in the past. I heard from my friend that I did an interview with that he prefers day neutral and LOTS of phosphorous to make them really explode in growth.
Indeed. You really wanna stay away from Nitrogen as it will just promote more greens than fruit :)
Yup. Learned that the hard way! Next season I'll be getting those juicy fruits ;)
