From the Garden and our Chickens
Feeling so lucky to have all of this from our home/ yard! Gardening, owning backyard chickens, and homesteading can really pay off.
Our chickens have been so good to us - taking care of them is a joy!
Gardening takes a lot of effort in the beginning of the growing season, but it sure pays off!
Much Love from our mini farm...lol!!
Nice harvest. We consider the manure our chickens produce as valuable as eggs. Its like organic gold thats priceless in the garden.
Thank you - Is there anything you need to do to prepare it? I am new to raising chickens but have heard it is GOLD for the garden!!!
I have sawdust and straw on the floor of the henhouse and when I clean out the house the whole lot including the manure is added into my compost. It all breaks down into beautiful black rich compost full of organic matter that I can then use all year round in my garden.
wonderful.... thank you for the info!
Lovely. The payoff for all your hard work! And you will even get to have another bonus when you eat all those nutritious goodies!
Is that a fake rabbit or squirrel? Does it work?
Thanks @bchick! Going to use the veg tonight in a dish... trying to figure out what you see in the garden pic that i don't...lol...is it the few yellow leaves from the broccoli plants... ??
It looks like a garden gnome rabbit to me with a long tail like a squirrel. Ha!
I see it!! - but yes, its just a yellowing broccoli leaf... he he he
Doesn't it look like a garden gnome in the picture?
Starch it and leave it there to let others garden pests know that this place is taken.
funny - I should cause it definitely looks like a squirrel to me.
Looks great. Enjoy those veggies!!!!
I plan on it this evening!! :)
