The Plantito`!! Cheapest way to grow Hundreds of seedlings!
This is the cheapest way to grow seedlings in the smallest space possible. We call it the Plantito`. You only need three things- Plastic Cling wrap, soil and seeds. Its very simple and won't take much of your time. Alright ya'll lets get gardening!
First get that plastic wrap out. I typically make it about a foot long. Lay it down flat, it helps to put a towel under it so it doesnt stick to anything...
Next reach for that soil. I usually put about a cup of soil. You can adjust this depending on how thick you'd like the starter pot to be. Put it on the far side of the cling wrap.
Fold the cling wrap up about halfway & smooth it over.
Make sure theres about 2-3 inches of space with no soil on the edge of the far side. Scoot the soil in a nice tight pile.
Now get ready to feel like your working at Taco Bell cause your gonna be rollin' it like a burrito! Tuck the edge of the plastic in & starting rolling.
At first it will feel real loose but keep tightening it as you roll..
Keep on rollin'...
The cling wrap should stick togetheir and form the most perfect little starter pot that's long enough to support a long healthy tap root.
Your first one may not look this tight, but as you get the hang of it you'll get better & better ;)
Now plant the seed & label it. Yes, its really that simple.
I typically can fit about 120-160 in average sized box. And a bag with a yard of potting soil will do hundreds of them.
Overall, we've seen all our plants thrive with this method. It lets them build a nice deep root system while also letting them grow bigger before having to transplant them.
