Pepper, Tomato Transplants and Strawberry Plants Reborn
Hard to see the little man in there but he was sleeping comfy this time.
We were out at the garden inspecting for any new growth and to give a watering since the air was at a stifling 20% RH.. bone dry.
We set up tomato and pepper transplants for the Spring Season inside the greenhouse. Stays nice and warm throughout the day and above freezing at night. Wind protection is nice, and the barrel of water acts as a heat sink through the day keeping the greenhouse a little cooler, and during the night releasing that stored heat to keep the greenhouse warm.
Hope to see some sprouts soon!
The only new life this update were the perennial strawberries growing back with a hustle! Very excited to see the red juicy berries bursting. Hopefully there are more than can be consumed by a few chipmunks before I can enjoy them..
Went to the local greenhouse today, which by the way is a massive labarynth of unique plants..
I will certainly be picking up some unique peppers or herbs this year to add to the diversity of the garden...
My objective was to pick up onions to plant, but I ended up also grabbing shallots and more potatoes to plant, how could I resist? So inexpensive to buy a bag, plant it, and see it come out 10 fold your input costs.
I also snagged a bag of composted manure, mushroom compost and leaf compost.. which I plan to mix together and use as an amazing fertilizer for the year. Going to see major results this year. I’m determined.
Closing shots of the Garlic absolutely booming with life. Got lucky last year when I planted them.. I had a feeling the temps would snap to cold quickly, and they certainly did. And because of that, this garlic is growing large and in charge. Kind of inspired me to buy the shallots.
Also the hugel mound idea has worked well. Whatever I seem to plant in it, takes off. But I have observed the dirt being transported down the sides with heavy rains so I understand I can’t be planting certain things in certain “thin soil” spots.
Take care y’all!
I pray to Heavenly Father.
Love this picture, all happy in the garden!

Boy am I jealous that you are that far ahead of what we can do up here yet.
Garden looks great so far. Greenhouse is coming along and things should be sprouting soon.
That local greenhouse looks like a fun place to spend some time at. We have a number of them up here but nothing that big.
Enjoy the sunshine you three!
