Mix Master Online: Rediscovering an old MMO!

I come home to find the first MMO I ever played to be re-lived again.

This is where I found myself after starting out for the first time in a good ten years of not having played this game. This MMORPG(Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game).

This was the start of an adventure waiting to be relived.

MixMaster Online is also an Anime(who would've thought?) that was then adapted into a 2D platform MMORPG where you fight mobs or henches. The pets that fight alongside you in battle are called henches.

You would go around fighting mobs and adding these mobs/henches to your roster.

Whilst starting out, your character is more powerful than your henches, and as you progress further into the game, your henches will be the main source of damage.

People would compare this to say, Pokemon or Digimon, and I would agree that it does have that main aspect of fighting mobs, catching them and using them in battle afterwards.

THE TEASER

The teaser is about as old as the game and the Animated series, brought back in 2017 by a company named Joyple.

Surprisingly, this game has been localized in many different languages over the years, handed down to many different publishers. There have been various private servers come and go as well. What strikes me is that the information over the internet is really vague and from what I have come to after trying to find traces of the game over the internet; the game was made by Korean developers named Aurora games and it was named Mix Master: King of Cards, just like the Anime.

The company had plans of releasing a sequel to the game, it was more of a remake since it was the same concept but it was going to be released in 3D. The mechanics would have been as fluid as pie and the henches looked grand and majestic from the screenshots that were available. This was set to release somewhere around 2013 or 2014 but by the likes of it, this never happened. It is quite sad.

Out of the tutorial zone and into the first city, there were people, loads of 'em.

CHARACTER PARTICULARS

The game consists of four named Ditt, Jin, Penril and Phoy. That 2:2 male to female ratio is great. Every character has an exclusive weapon for himself. Ditt uses a sword while Jin uses a glove and Penril and Phoy use a bow and a gun respectively.

MIXING

Henches are collected by core drops, the cores can then be mixed to make new henches. This is the main aspect of the game as this is what determines how powerful you get as you progress further into the game.

The henches look like nothing at the beginning of the game but at a higher level the start to look better and better. What inspired the designers and the artists of the game to make such beautiful virtual creatures look so lifelike and unique in a 2D game and I can't imagine how this game would look in 3D, but I've seen the idea as well and it would be amazing.

PVP(PLAYER VERSUS PLAYER)

A standard in most multiplayer games doesn't matter how old the game, if it is a multiplayer then there has to be PVP. A fight to the death against a player. There's a PVP arena in the main city which is a global PVP arena where you can get shredded by anybody in the zone.

Siege battles are what makes the game very worth it late game. A siege battle is when two guilds go against each other to an all out battle and the guild that has the last man standing wins! No one should miss out on how this looks in a 2D game and there are no words that can express what you see when it happens.

Global PVP arena is also the main marketplace where people setup shop to sell their items.
