Thoughts on Game Dev Tycoon

So, Game Dev Tycoon.

The game has been out for a while now. But I never got my hands on it till this day when a Friend who wants to remain anonymous gifted me this game.

So what did I think of it. Well to put it simply its fun.

Game Dev Tycoon is a Tycoon style game on the grounds of Zoo Tycoon or Roller coaster Tycoon, and is Developed by Green heart games as their First Title

In Game Dev Tycoon you start up your own game company in the late 70s early 80s and you Make games.

Simple as that. But it is more complex then that.

When Developing games you have to choose what Genre the game is, what the game is about, and the Platform its on. Later on in the game you gain the ability to choose a Target Audience, How large the game is, and the ability to make sequels. You can Advertise the game at Events like E3...oh i'm sorry "G3". You even see console history Play out when you See "Ninvendo" Screw the Deal out of "Vony"'s "Play System" only for "vony" to make their own console "The Playsystem"

And yes. they used these Names to avoid Legal Trouble. which I think it makes the game better. But there is also Mod Support and mods that gives the companies and consoles their Real World names.

Eventually you gain the ability to Make your own Console and Join the Console wars.

Overall. this is a Good game. Go buy it its around 12 bucks on Steam.

Just a word of Warning it does not handle windowed mode well.

Other then that. its enjoyable and addicting.
