# My Thoughts On ABZU The Game

Introduction

     Hello my name is Tyler, and I am a gamer. I really enjoy gaming. As long as I can remember I have always loved video games. This is my first game review of many to come.

What Is ABZU?

     ABZU is an indie game by a new and upcoming studio called Giant Squid. Who broke away from That Game Company (the developers of Flower and Journey). ABZU derives from Sumerian text, AB meaning ocean and ZU meaning ocean. In turn the name suits it very well.

My first dive into the game

Gameplay

     ABZU is a simplistic game, without spoiling the game all I can say is that it involves getting from point A to B while bringing life back to the ocean.

My first encounter with sea creatures, and the first of many.

This underwater cave is jaw dropping.

This is a underwater drone, I do not know what they truly are. But they helped me clear some obstacles during my journey.

The first time I encountered a shark I thought it would have the typical video game shark behavior. But in reality they are noble creatures who are misunderstood. Even though they do not attack in this game there are some hazards later on in the game. Speaking of which there is no health bar or oxygen bar. This grants true underwater exploration.

Sound, Music, and Visuals

     All three of these go hand and hand. For example you could be swimming, and then a huge school of fish start swimming around you. While making the sound of movement, and then beautiful music starts playing at that exact moment.

These allowed me to progress further.

Is This Game Worth it?

     I completed this game in under two hours. As a game no it is not worth it but as a moving painting its a masterpiece. I recommend waiting for the price to drop, but if any of you like art go and pick this game up.

After The Credits

     After I finished ABZU I felt at peace. I am glad I played this game. But I feel like ABZU is a one time experience. For me though I really enjoyed the two hour journey through the ocean. I can not wait to see what Giant Squid comes up with next.
