Unreal Engine Unleashed on Four Classic Franchises
What do you get when you mix Unreal Engine 4 on some retro gaming classics? Add to the mix some dedicated fans and you might end up with results like these four choice picks.
Rayman
Ubi Soft has been trying to make Rayman their on/off again mascot for a couple of decades now. They just can’t seem to decide if they want to use him in this capacity or not. No matter, check out this video of Rayman/Kite Demo and just enjoy.
Mario Kart
What list like this would be complete without mentioning Mario Kart? While we wait for a true HD super powered game in this series, fans have been working on their version in Unreal Engine 4.
Pokemon, Pikachu focused
This one makes Pikachu out to be one bad mother ***. He is no longer all cute and cuddly, instead, he is gritty and intimidating – how he probably would be in real life.
Sonic the Hedgehog
This is how a 3D Sonic game probably should have been like (though I don’t think the whole speed + open world stuff works). Watch as Sonic plows through scenery and it understandably blurs. This is quite a cool demo and I am not a big fan of Sonic in the first place.
Amazing post! This was cool to watch.
Beautiful stuff! I've seen an Ocarina of Time demo on Unreal Engine and it was gorgeous!
Yeah, Zelda is a popular choice for these fanmakes using the Unreal Engine. There are some really impressive pieces of work in that area. Makes me wish these developers would flesh out a game of their own with that talent.
