Changing From PS4 To PC Gaming
My gaming experience only really started a few years ago when my wife ‘bought my son’ a PS4, lol.
Needless to say daddy’o jumped onto the opportunity to get going with some gaming. Sure, I’ve played a little bit here and there on the Xbox 360, PS2 and so on at some friends and family but the first gaming console I owned was the PS4. Therefore, it was the first time I could spend a bit more time on gaming.
As I started jamming away at some games, I learned the PVP aspect of the game with FPS games like Killzone, The Last of Us & Destiny. Well, those are the only ones I played some PVP on and I must admit I was totally hooked on Destiny. I just loved the pace but I despised the fact that they ran on independent servers, which imho, caused terrible lag at times, mostly to my detriment, off course ;). Now don’t trash me because I enjoyed the game. For me, the pace was brilliant. Not too fast and not too slow either. It just had great flow.
Anyway, moving onto the subject at hand, my cousin, @deanoza, has helped me set up a PC that works as a miner and can double up as a gaming PC by utilizing the one GPU while the other two cards mine. It’s capable of near 4K gaming so it’ll work well for my new gaming expedition.
He’s been into PC gaming for as long as I can remember and Vanilla WOW was what he jammed back in the day. His guild was the first team in South Africa to beat Illidan and they were second in their server (20-30k players) to a Brazilian team. He was also part of the first raid team so yeah, a seriously kickass PC gamer.
Guess what? That’s now my starting point. Noobing my way into Vanilla WOW with the master at hand to bail me out, lol.
@deanoza has picked up on WOW again after many years, although not as seriously as back then and I’m now starting to get a feel for the game at level 13 Hunter. It’s still early days for me but I’m quite excited about reaching level 20 then I can get into the PVP side of the game and get my ass kicked, hard! So, aside from what I’m used to gaming wise, going from FPS PVP to MMORPG, learning to control my character with a keyboard and mouse, as opposed to a controller, it’s all quite challenging but interesting so far.
It’s going to be a fun ride and I’m definitely going to be looking at loading some gameplay on Dtube… I’ll reserve those for when my cousin is around though. The Noob and The Master!
Wish me luck on this new journey!
Lol, wish you all the luck you need friend. Happy gaming!
Thanks @abfictionstories. I need all the luck I can get ;)
I play pc as my main video game source but I love Nintendo and PlayStation exclusives
(Posted with Vapor, available for iOS and Android)
Yeah, I won't let go of PS4 gaming. I still enjoy it and recently got COD 3 as a free download since I have PS Plus. It's been pretty bad ass so far. I checked out some of the reviews and the story line is a little pale but the gameplay is great :) I just need to learn the maps and upgrade my character and weapons a bit more on the pvp side. Atm, I'm getting smashed since most of the players have been around for a few years already, lol.
i'm saving money for a nintnedo switch! i can't hardly wait!
Nice, enjoy :)
It really comes down to exclusivity. PS4 has such an incredible lineup. PC on the other hand has about 40 games you can buy on Steem right now that are all awesome and under $5
Yeah, PS4 has some great games. I've jammed quite a few titles and genre's. Some a little disappointing but most really enjoyable. Cool, I'll check out Steem a bit. Thanks :)
Have fun with your gaming @therneau both my sons are gamer's, not something that has ever attracted my attention too much I must be honest.
Yeah, my wife also just looks at us as if we're crazy. She has adapted a little over time though. Idk, I just really enjoy it and so does my son.
That's funny, my dad at the time got into gaming the same way but way back and it all started with a NES :)
I've actually been doing some "historical" gaming posts lately, covering noteworthy games released in certain years (just made one about 98 and 2000) if you as a gamer were born just recently - you might have a lot of past to discover, and no need to be discouraged by some titles being old
Yeah, cool. I've noticed especially with PC gaming that older titles remain relevant for many years, unlike console. For me I need to choose carefully since my time is quite limited therefore I decided to go with Vanilla WOW since my cousin can teach me the ropes :)
Thanks for the comment and I'll be sure to check out some of the historical gaming posts of yours.
Cheers!
Actually just got a kid myself so can relate :0 And WoW is a great choice for sure!
Yeah, once the kiddo's come into the picture your time doesn't belong to you anymore, lol. Well, I guess congratulations are in order :) Enjoy the little monster ;)
Oh my word @therneau, you're gona get hooked! We used to think @deanoza would still be sitting in front of his pc here at home when he turns 60 LOL! They used to have LAN parties back in the day, we'd wake up with bodies all over having played through the night :) He went from Atari to Commodore or is it one and the same thing haha I'm clueless, but I do know those belong to the Ark ;) Enjoy your gaming, tell Jusi to call us if you get lost or attacked somewhere in cyberspace :):)
