Just so you know, this is the third chapter they've released for The Dark Pictures Anthology. There's two previous ones available to play through if you had any interest. I'm guessing you never played Until Dawn, as this is made by the same team and has very similar mechanics. Just with way goofier writing and worse acting.

This game is way more fun playing with a buddy, which is what I'd recommend to most people who want to give it a try. Solo dolo, I definitely feel like this game would be way less fun/interesting.
