The Ghost of Tsushima (PS4) won't always be faithful to historical truth
During a talk with GameSpot, Ghost of Tsushima programmer Chris Zimmerman revealed that some of the elements in the game will be true to the realities of the 13th-century Japan. The developers have thoroughly analyzed the title islands. However, not everything will be consistent with history. An example of this is the samurai armor, which completely does not match the people's ideas on the subject, so they were modeled on armor from the 16th-18th centuries.
I think about it this way: if we are going to leave the historical truth, we want to do it on purpose - emphasized Zimmerman. - Our friends from Sony from Japan support us very much, as do Japanese friends from Sony US, as well as cultural consultants who help us with these issues. We do not want to be unfaithful to history by accident. There are things that we intend to do differently and we intend to choose them wisely. You probably have an idea of what a samurai looks like or how it behaves, or how we should introduce it to you. Most people think about samurai from the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries, in fact, the 13th century was completely different.
Ghost of Tsushima doesn't have a release date, so for now we have to settle for fragments of the game. Although on the mentioned video characters speak English, the game will be able to choose the Japanese version of the audio.
