Pokemon go Ex Raid with Mewtwo

This is a very delayed post. Haha So we had our ex raid last week. This was my 6th time for a chance to capture Mewtwo so I would now have a battle party with all Mewtwo in it.

So our schedule is at 5:30 pm. I had to have my work schedule changed so that I can participate in this raid. So when 4:30 pm came, I quickly went out and ride a public transportation. I thought of riding a taxi or some other faster and convenient means but nah, not worth it to spend more. Haha Anyways I had 5 Mewtwos already so no pressure at all.

It takes almost an hour to arrive to our designated gyms. So as usual, it's catching time for Pokemons. I also had to leave some monsters on gyms I passed along. Also, I passed by another party who is having ex raid as well. Their schedule is 4:30 pm. I didn't go near them because I might be late so I'll just chat with them later.

After traveling almost an hour, I arrived at my destination. Along the way, my teammates were already chatting me where I am since the egg is almost hatched. I arrived there like 7 minutes before the time so I still have time to breathe and prepare my monsters so we are all good.

If I had arrived early, I usually attempt to defeat the current monsters in the gym to have gym control. We have to be strategic in doing so because the golden razz berries of the defending team are quite plenty. So this time no chance to do that. Its okay since Mewtwo is just easy to catch, so far.

We raided Mewtwo in batches since there are many of us. We divided the batch per color so at least more balls will be given to each player. Of course dark type monsters and movesets were used in the raid. So Tyranitars top the list with Gyarados, Houndoom and even Mewtwo with shadow ball as our main attackers. If the raid boss Mewtwo has focus blast as an attack, then our Tyras are super in danger. So in those situations we will need lots of potions and revives (oh revives, where art though??) and more monsters to defeat it. Also our damage per second will be affected so we might defeat it close to the finish time.

Luckily, we have strong monsters and many players. Also at that time it was just psychic as its charge move so not much sweat. All batches had successfully defeated Mewtwo so yehey!!! The first part is now finished.

We now go to the second part which is the catching of the beast. So we were given premier balls and we are good to go for catching. There still those who are first timers to catch Mewtwo so the golden razz is the default one to use. For us, I find Pinap berries more useful and challenging so i used it initially. Of course, it is still little nerve racking to catch Mewtwo. I mean yeah I caught it more than once but since it is just given on ex raids, a ran away Mewtwo is really such a waste. It will also destroy my record of no ran away so the pressure is still there. So after 4 Pinap and Mewtwo is still escaping, little oooppppssss thought came. Luckily on the 5th it was caught so yehey again! Plus I gain extra candies for Mewtwo so not bad at all!!!

I was expecting that all of us will catch Mewtwo. The last ex raid we had a perfect catch rate, all of us went home with Mewtwo. However, this was not the case. There were four first timers that didn't get it. Our other colleagues tried to help catching it with all the excellent throws and no missed balls. Still, Mewtwo played hard to get. O well, better luck next time.

Also, we check if someone will be given 100% IV Mewtwo with 2275 CP. Unfortunately there's no one. The highest CP we had is just 2255, around 93%. Last time someone in our team caught 97.8%. this time was a little low. I checked other teams who've raided in other gyms if someone got a perfect IV but no one did this time. Mewtwo perfect is elusive right now, unlike before. Well, there's always a next time.

So we had our picture taken as a team. Its was still nice. Having a group of friends playing with you is inspiring. So we all still went home with happy faces.

Oh, some of us didn't go home yet and had some lure activity first haha. But after that, it was really time to go home.
