[Game News] Dragon Ball FighterZ open beta coming!
Hey everyone
Today I want to talk about an upcoming game that I think is going to be amazing! The game is called DragonBall FighterZ.
Even though my avatar is of Luffy from One Piece that's not all I watch, lately I've mostly been watching Dragon Ball Super. I started watching Dragon Ball when I was really young and I was super excited when I learned that they'd made a new series. I started watching it but quickly caught up to the last episode. I decided to stop watching for a while and now I continued after some time and had almost one hundred new episodes to watch. But back to the game for now!
In this game there will be a lot of characters to choose from and I found a list of confirmed ones from this month so bear in mind that the list might still change. I found the list on Gamespot and you can find that article by clicking HERE!
Here is the list of confirmed playable characters so far:
- Android 16
- Buu (Kid Buu)
- Good Buu (Majin Buu)
- Frieza (100% with Golden transformation)
- Ginyu with Ginyu Force Assists
- Gohan
- Goku (Normal, SSJ, SSJ3)
- Gotenks (SSJ3)
- Krillin
- Nappa
- Perfect Cell
- Piccolo
- Super Saiyan Blue Goku
- Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta
- Tenshinhan with Chaozu Assists
- Trunks (SSJ Future)
- Vegeta (Normal, SSJ)
- Yamcha
- Android 18 with Android 17 Assists
- Android 21.
It will obviously be a fighting game and each player will be able to choose three characters for each match and be able to switch between these characters while in a match. Like we have seen in other games like the Marvel vs. Capcom series. You will even be able to do "assist attacks" with two characters from your team at the same time. It will feature online ranked matches so it can get really competitive.
The story sounded like it will also be really cool from what I've read. It will be set just after Dragon Ball Z ended and I am excited to see how it will play out.
The game will run on Unreal Engine 4 and from what I've seen so far in trailers it will have some beautiful graphics. The developers are Arc System Works and it seems like they have done a great job. Here is a trailer that shows a little bit of it:
The game will be released on the 26th of January so in approximately five weeks. However they will be having an open beta for anyone that wants to try it out before hand. The open beta will be one day longer for people that pre order the game and start on the 13th of January, for other it will be the 14th. It ends on the 16th so that at least gives players a chance to get a taste of the game before making a decision on buying it.

The price is going to be 59,99€ for the standard edition and up to 109,97€ for the "Ultimate Edition".
The minimum requirements are not final according to the information on Steam but are listed as follows:

Memory: 16 GB RAM (seems a bit much for minimum)

This game looks like its going to be amazing but As much as I love the side scrolling fighters I don't know why its so hard to get an RPG based around dragon ball. xenoverse was close but still a locked down fighter. am I the only one who wants an open world dragon ball rpg?
You are definitely not the only one and a good RPG based on Dragon Ball would be really awesome. Let's hope they make it.
Man, I haven't played a Dragon Ball Z game since like Budokai 3 for the Playstation 2. They've obviously stepped up their game since then, lol. The game looks great judging from the trailer, though spending $60 for it is a bit out of my spending range right now :( From what you read, is the story going down the path of Dragon Ball Super? I've honestly only watched the two movies they released recently and a handful of Super, so I'm not caught up and wouldn't want to be spoiled anyways, lol.
I'm assuming you're going to get the game, so I hope you enjoy it at least, man! I'll just be happy with my DBZ anime and the Goku/Vegeta coins in my hobo coin collection for now :P
Yeah I haven't played any Dragon Ball games in a while either to be honest. But it does look like they've improved quite a bit. I think it will since characters from super will be included like Beerus and Goku Black.
Well I will try the beta first but to be honest the price does seem a little excessive. I could pay it for a big game like The Witcher or GTA but seems a bit much for a fighting 2d plane-game. Haha sounds awesome with the coins. I unfortunately have no collectibles at all :(

Oh, I'd say it's more than quite a bit. It looks tens of times better than the old games I used to play, haha! Yeah, I kinda tuned out after the Goku Black/Future Trunks stuff and haven't caught up since then. So, I'll steer clear of this one until I'm caught up and it goes on sale, as I agree with you that you could buy a lot of triple A tier games for that price.

yeahh my childhood game :) this game is wonderfull.
unfortunately my computer does not support the game,so I have uploaded it on my homemaker's computer and I play this game for 2 hours every day :)))

I'm not a huge fighting genre fan, but these games always hold a special place in my heart because I started watching the series so long ago. And remember the agony watching the Freiza saga pan out over months, but still watching every week for those epic scenes.
Super has actually had some really entertaining episodes lately, and I feel like it brings me back to the old days of excitement.

i would love to install this game as soon as i can but my ram will not support i have max 8 gb in my system so i know it will work in that
