MHW Mixed Set: HBG: SSS - Sticky / Slugger / Sniper

INTRODUCTION

As the first entry for my blog here at SteemIt, I've decided to make a blog for Monster Hunter World content. The blog series will be discussing different mixed set that could help players on the mid-game or late-game hunt - Hunting Tempered and Arch-Tempered Monsters.

So lets talk about the mixed set! This build is for players that are looking for fun or got bored with the repetitive weapon usage of their mains. And also this build is very uncommon to use, because most of the Heavy BowGun users tends to use only Taroth Glutton for spread ammo damage, Taroth Support for piercing ammo damage which is very effective with large monsters with lots of weak spots, and lastly Dark Devourer for clusters damage. But this build is to leverage the use of Magda Gemitus II.

THE EQUIPMENTS

For the equipment as the time of my writing, the Gamma Sets beats a lot of Beta and Alpha pieces, this might change when the Iceborne becomes available later this year.

The weapon of choice is Magda Gemitus II the so-called "Zorah HBG", the weapon has a fairly huge amount of clips for Sticky Ammo 2 & 3, Sleep Ammo 1 & 2 and Exhuast Ammo 1 & 2.

For the head part - we will be using Kulve Taroth's Fury B / Beta that will give us 1 level of Release / Ammo Up Skill.

The chest part will be Kirin Jacket Y / Gamma for another 1 level of Release / Ammo Up Skill.

And for the rest will 3 pcs. of Xeno'jiiva Y / Gamma armors - Xeno'jiiva Claws Y, Xeno'jiiva Spine Y and Xeno'jiiva Spurs Y, these will unlock Xeno'jiiva Divinity or the Razor Sharp / Spare Ammo Skill which very important to long-ranged weapons users. This will give the hunter a chance to not to expend ammos or coatings.

And for the charm will be Attack Charm III that will give us 3 levels of Attack Skill.

THE DECORATIONS

The decorations are slightly hard to grind, but we you could replace some alternatives for it if that fits with your playstyle. Here are my recommended decorations for this mixed set:

• KO Jewel - 3 Pcs.
• Trueshot Jewel - 1 Pc.
• Artillery Jewel - 3 Pcs.
• Attack Jewel - 3 Pcs.
• Charger Jewel - 3 Pcs.

So overall skills will be:

Lets talk about the important skills above. Free Elem/Ammo Up Level 3 will help us to extend our clip. Even if it adds only 1, just always remember that more clip - more damage. Artillery 3 and Attack Boost 6 will boost the sticky ammo damage. Slugger Level 3 will make the stun build up faster but it depends on the monster's resistance.

The two following skills might be debatable, but I'll explain why I choose them: Focus Level 3 and Special Ammo Boost Level 2 - this skills will leverage the use of Wyvern Sniper ammo, the special ammo of Magda Gemitus II. Focus skill will shorten the cooldown of the special ammo and Special Ammo Boost will increse the damage output of Wyvern Snipe.

And the rest of the skills are bonuses from the armor parts.

GAMEPLAY

The gameplay of this build is fun. Since it is focused on spamming sticky ammos, you should be always aiming for the head.

Keep in mind that the weapons is able to shoot Sleep and Exhaust ammos. So, the routine will be:

1. Make the monster sleep, mostly it only takes 3-4 shot of Sleep Ammo Level 2
2. Plant Mega Barrel Bomb
3. Wyvern Blast Ammo to wake up the monster
4. (Optional / It depends on the monster) Use all of the Exhaust Ammo Level 1 and 2. Take note that exhaust status will make an opnening for the hunter to deal another status effect like stun and sleep
   1. Then use the remaining Sleep Ammo Level 2 or refill it by returning to camp
   2. Repeat Step 2 and 3

CONCLUSION

This mixed set is fun to play with specially if you're joining S.O.S'. Stunning monsters always opens an opportunity to your teammates to dishout huge amount of damage and of course for you to use the Wyvern Snipe Skill.
