The album did not do justice she was unable to score the gold medal, perry moved to Los Angeles the following year to look for new recording company that will help in promoting her music, she found The Island Def Jam Music Group and Columbia Records, she signed a recording contract with these company and released her second album a pop rock record titled "One of the Boys"

The album went triple platinum and its singles "I Kissed a Girl" and "Hot n Cold". The former track also sparked controversy for its sapphic themes. Her third album, Teenage Dream (2010), ventured into disco, and contained the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping. she received many awards, including best pop album and most air played hit single, perry manage to score the number one spot in itune chart

The album became the first by a female artist to produce five number-one songs in the U.S. Perry broke the all time record of Michael Jackson's. in 2013 she released her forth studio album titled Prism, the album was strictly influenced by dance and pop. it first single "Roar" which i think you may it reach one billion views on youtube "Vevo" and became the most downloaded and played single in U.S. Billboard 200 chart
