Playing the Sims: Vintage Glamour Stuff Pack

Victoria, and Jack Steem are my Sim Girl legacy challenge Sims. If you are not familiar with the challenge you can find it at Sims Legacy Challenge. This challenge is to basically start your Sim out on a huge lot, with little to no money, and then play the household for 10 generations on this land. There are many stipulations, and rules for the challenge. You can find these rules by following the link.

@snook is very fancy. She is a fancy decorator, a fancy dresser. She even sounds distinguished when she talks. So, it is only fitting, that she would be the first between her and I, to install the fancy stuff pack in the Sims 4.

My Steem family looks like rednecks compared to @snook’s Sims. Her Sims look like the type of Sims who would require a butler; so that they don’t break a nail, or scuff up their pretty clothes.

I must admit, I felt that if there was any Sim family who needed a butler, it was the Steem family. The plants alone, could use the help.

I decided to install the Vintage Glamour Stuff to my Sims 4 game. This pack, provides you with an option for the butler, and gives you the vanity table, to primp your Sims before their lavish parties. It comes with new luxurious furnishing, and clothing for your Sims.

To hire a butler in the Sims 4, you will need to have a place for your butler to sleep. They will be living at your Sim’s home, cleaning, taking care of the children, and plants, preparing meals, and providing entertainment.

I did not have any more room in the house for a butler, so I saved up some of the harvest money and built them a little hut in which they could sleep. This little hut, cost a little over $2,000, and only has a bed.

It cost almost $200 to hire the butler, and then they will charge a daily fee for the services. After building the outdoor loft, The Steems did not have the money to hire the butler yet.

Joy’s genius trait causes her to be more focused than other Sims. Since, she did such a good job with her angry painting, I tried to cheer her up with by painting a mathematical diagram. This is art for the left-brained, that is both orderly, and geometric.

I have to say, I have not done much painting in this game before, and Joy has been very creative, in her need to express herself on the canvas. I may continue with her painting, to see what else she comes up with in the future.

Carolyn, has an artistic aspiration that makes her want to create things. Now that she has raised her creativity skill, she has more options when selecting the creativity center. She can draw people, shapes, and cars.

The Sims will be earning reward points early in the game. When you raise a Sim from a child, you have a greater chance to reach the top level of the rewards, when they grow up. By taking steps to achieve their life goal, the child Sims will add to their reward points.

One of Carolyn’s steps toward her life goal as a child, is to draw two pictures while inspired. Carolyn took a thoughtful shower to get into an inspired mood, and could finish one of the pictures needed to complete her goal.

By Friday afternoon, everyone in the Steem family has low needs, and are not in a very good mood. I have gotten used to pausing the game when the girls get home from school, so that I can micromanage their needs.

On top of their basic needs, the teen girls of the Steem family are also dealing with hormones, and mood swings. Most of the days you spend in the Sims 4 game, will be trying to get your Sims basic needs filled. The more Sims you have in the household, the more needs you will have to juggle.

The girls are in school, so they will also need to get their homework done, and they have school projects, on top of all of that. Let me tell you, playing a full house is a challenge on its own. Having to build the house with the legacy challenge rules, and low funds, adds to this challenge.

I am very challenged.

Friday afternoon, The Steems decided it was time to hire fulltime help for the family, and called up the butler. Once the butler arrived at the home, the Steems could introduce themselves, manage the butler’s responsibilities, and assign the bed, they will be using during their stay.

Jack was thrilled to have a man to talk to around the house. After spending years in this home with a house full of women, he instantly attached himself to the butler for a nice manly talk.

This butler didn’t seem to have a neat trait, or at least not that I noticed. I did find out he was mean, but if he helps in the garden, I don’t think that should be a problem.

Saturday night Carolyn aged up to be a teenager. I was getting tired of trying to look up the random traits, every time I needed a new trait, so I did all the girls traits at one time.

On the Sims Legacy Challenge website, they have provided a random trait generator for toddlers, another for child, teen, and adult. You can do them all at one time, with the all-in-one random trait generator.

All the children in the Steem family have their predestined traits. They will receive a new trait for every stage of their life, the last trait being given when they reach the young adult stage of life.

Sunday afternoon was a sad day in the Steem family. Jack’s time had arrived, and the Grim Reaper came to call on him. The family was gathered around him, and they all witnessed his death.

I instantly went from one daughter to the next, and clicked for them to plead the Reaper for Jack’s life. Carolyn’s impassioned pleas to the Grim Reaper must have worked, because the Reaper raised Jack back to life.

I was a little slow getting the camera started, to capture the resurrection, but I could get the tail end of it recorded.

Jack was back on his feet. It did not stop everyone from having the witness death, sad buff. And they were all emotional at this point. The butler was even crying.

When I checked on Jack, he was happy, and received the brush with death buff. His age looked the same as the others, with the immortal buff.

Unfortunately, this dramatic resurrection in the Steem home, did not last.

All the girls were sad, so I took the teens to the romance festival. When I came back to the household, Jack was gone, and he was replaced with an urn, close to where he died.

The death of Jack has been hard on the family. They ask that you respect their privacy during this time. All condolences can be sent to @simgirl in the form of Steem, or Sbd. It will be used to buy more Sims 4 game packs.

I hope you have learned a little more about how to play the Sims 4, and how to stop a Sim from dying. I am pretty sure that Jack would have stayed alive, if I did not have a glitched game. If I at one point, used the cheat code to remove the immortal buff, this may have been the reason he did not stay alive.

I guess we will never know the real reason Jack Steem died. He will be missed.
