Review of Spiderman Ps4 Game
Today we will be reviewing Insomniacs PS4 exclusive Spider-Man game as it has set new boundaries of what superhero games should be like and sets new bigger possibilities for future Marvel titles.
Spider-Man (PS4) offers a whole new and unique story for the wall-crawler as he is in a tight spot between his superhero career and his normal everyday tasks as Peter Parker. After taking down the infamous Wilson Fisk (AKA the Kingpin), Spider-Man is now at war between a mysterious terrorist organization called the Demons lead by Mr. Negative alongside a handful of Spider-Man's rogue gallery such as the Vulture, the Scorpion, the Rhino, Electro, and a mysterious criminal mastermind. It's all up to the web-head to protect the people of New York from the forces of evil and become something greater.
The gameplay has fit every aspect of the famous wall-crawler through combat, stealth, and of course the incredible web-swinging. Gadgets and a roster of fantastic new suits are only unlocked when having enough tokens to craft a specific item. Each item has a specific type and specific amount required to unlock and can only be collected through tasks such as stopping a robbery, completing challenges, and collecting backpacks. Some of the suits in the game are free such as the Sam Raimi Spiderman suit, Future Foundation suit, and the Bombastic Bagman suit. Each gadget crafted changes the flow of combat and web-slinging adding more variety to the gameplay. The combat itself is fast-paced, intense, and downright fun. Stealth is also unique as the player is given an option to clear out a few criminals before the actual fighting begins. Web-Slinging is by far the games greatest strength as the player is given many ways to travel across the city in the most epic way possible. The mechanics of web-slinging is much similar to combat in terms of being very fast and makes web-slinging one of the most enjoyable parts of the game and never gets stale or boring. The open world itself is remarkable and huge bringing immersion when swinging past famous landmarks like the Empire State building and Avengers Tower. The game offers a variety of side missions for those who want to take a break from the main story. Backpacks are included in the game and once all the backpacks are collected, the Homemade suit is unlocked for the player to try out. The graphics are astounding giving the game a visual depth.
While there are many positive factors into this fabulous superhero game, there are however flaws that need to be addressed such as the FORCED stealth missions. The player is either stepping into the shoes of Mary Jane Watson or Miles Morales as their goal is to proceed to the next objective without being spotted. The concept itself is interesting, but it was poorly executed as it did not add any further depth to the stealth gameplay. While it is negative on its own, it fits with the story.
In conclusion, Spider-Man (PS4) is by far one of the greatest superhero video games to date and insomniacs greatest project adding depth to the narrative, gameplay, and overall factor making this game earn a rating of a 9/10.
