The adventures of Ark - New beginnings... again

I just can't seem to stay away!

Ark: Survival Evolved is a survival game that takes place in a world where dinosaurs live. You wake up as a survivor, not really knowing where you are and how you got there. You then have to survive in this strange place by keeping yourself warm, fed and well... not eaten by dinosaurs.

I've written about this game in the past. Quite a lot actually. I've shared many adventures, but I eventually moved onto other games. Now that I've got a better gaming PC and I found out there's a map I haven't tried yet, I returned to check it out!

(I'm not the best at writing reviews, so you'll basically just find me talking about my ingame adventures instead. If you want to read a good review about this game, head on over to @braini's article.)

As always, the first thing you want to do in Ark is to find yourself a relatively safe spot. I spawned in one of the recommended areas, so there weren't many bad dinos around. I gathered up some materials to level up, started crafting some tools and made sure I was able to create a fire in case it got cold. Then, I looked for a good place to settle down for a while and started building my home.

It's just a little square hut for now, nothing special, but it's home!

Most importantly, it's got a bed, so if I die, I'll be able to respawn here.

You might notice in the above screenshot that I'm using a little sparkler to lighten up the room. It's an event item that changed the appearence of a regular torch to something more festive!

So, I already did some exploring around my home and I ran into this:

While I was checking it out, I suddenly noticed a T-rex running around on top of the mountain! So I started to back away. I figured he'd probably not go after me, because I was down below him, but I was wrong. He dropped down off of the cliff, so I decided to turn and run!

Luckily, these guys are quite easily distracted. The bad thing is though, that now I have a T-rex wandering around on the beach right next to the beach I build my home on! So I'll have to be extra careful when I step outside and hope it won't come any closer...

Atleast I got a warning system in the form of the little stealing dino I tamed. He's wandering around my house, picking up berries. So if I ever get a system message, saying my dino died... I'll know I'm basically screwed!
